The album reviews of Nilüfer Yanya and Laura Jane Grace are now available on our website. Of course we also have selected the most interesting alternative releases and compiled them in our CHAOTIC TWENTY playlist. Three of the twenty songs are highlighted. Quickly scroll down to see which ones!

Nilüfer Yanya  Feeling Lucky?

We were completely blown away by opening track ‘Crash’, which directly refers to a fear of flying, and indirectly to a fear of losing control. Yanya is showing a side of herself we hadn’t yet experienced: the power woman we knew she could be, but had been hidden up until now. Read the entire review by clicking on the image.

Laura Jane Grace – Stay Alive

Heartbreaking in its simplicity and heartbreaking because it sounds so vulnerable. This feeling is not only caused by the raw voice of the singer, but also by the special process of recording the album. The songs have been recorded and edited completely in analogue. LISTEN THIS WEEK:

Every week we highlight a few songs that you should absolutely listen to. In week 51 these are:

Dodie – Rainbow

Genre: singer-songwriter
FFO: Cavetown, Mxmtoon
A must listen because: this song is such an introvert one that it brings you to your knees and forces you to listen with your head down. It goes perfectly along with the contemplations during this time of the year.

Spiritbox – Constance

Genre: progressive metal
FFO: Polaris, Thornhill
A must listen because: it is an emotional song about the los of a grandmother. A ballad with many layers and with neccessary power.

Labasheeda – Infralight

Genre: art-rock
FFO: HEISA, DIRK.
A must listen because: this band from Amsterdam picked up its musical activities after a five year hiatus and deserves some kind of attention.
